Legend. 👏👏👏 Nice I released my Biggest Salmon to date too, but that was back in 2006 - 15.5lb only but caught him on the Fly in High water and my Third of that session,

Well done Holy f#ck what a fish! 👌👍 My largest salmon landed was on the upper Humber river in Newfoundland, Canada. It was about 16-18 lbs. However, I did get into one close to 40 lbs albeit for only about 30 seconds. A dry fly cast that got blown back at me in heavy winds. The beast did a lazy rise about 20 feet from me. I threw the bomber several times over her and she came and looked at it every time. Finally on the 5-6 cast she opened up and swallowed it. Then she stripped me of 100 feet of casting line and about 100 feet of backing and in seconds. Tied herself up in amongst a bunch of rocks and busted the leader. She made a huge leap after she broke free. Big fish are clever. Thank fuck for barbless hooks too. A true monster..... What a moment when you lost yors bigest filets ewer 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😅

Caught in the legendary Emån – a true giant at around 17 kg. After an intense fight and a few deep breaths, watching her swim back strong into the river was something I’ll never forget.

I hooked it on a single-hand rod, and with a sunray in the end, heart pounding the whole fight… and then Marius steps in and seals it with a perfect net job.

After a long and intense fight, I finally managed to bring the fish close enough for my buddy to step in with the net. A perfect team effort — and suddenly a big, Orkla river Atlantic salmon was safely in the net.
One of those moments out in the river that makes everything worth it.
