It showed itself, teased us, but refused every drift.
Jonas kept the faith.
He went back out in the dark, alone, with knife-sharp focus… and that’s when it finally happened.
The fish smashed the fly and the fight was on.
After a full day of waiting, frustration, and chasing shadows, Jonas finally landed the trout of a lifetime.
Pure happiness. Pure Lærdal magic.
This was from the good old days, before the expansion of fish farms significantly reduced the fish population in Laerdal.

Me and Hadi had already landed some big salmon, while this Finnish guy had struggled for four days without a single fish. He was ready to pack up and go home.
Then he hooked this one — and everything changed.
After that fish he suddenly became the top rod of the entire week, landing several salmon over 10 kg.
It’s often like that: once you get your first fish of the week, you relax, fish better, and the salmon keep coming.
